Inside Discover 2025: Build Smarter and Automate Faster with AI
Simplify agreement processes and unlock insights with the Docusign for Developers Discover 2025 Q4 release. Connect your agreements and workflows to the tools you use to manage them, streamline your workflows, and accelerate your work with AI.

Agreement processes are evolving rapidly. The introduction of powerful AI agents is fundamentally changing how work gets done—and how developers build. To keep pace, the systems that govern your agreements and workflows must leverage the power of AI, shifting from complex, fragmented experiences across processes like account onboarding and maintenance or historical agreement analysis and renewal, to seamless, conversational experiences. That's why, at Docusign Discover 2025, we made a foundational move: we announced that Docusign’s Intelligent Agreement Management (IAM) platform is available today in developer tools like Claude, GitHub Copilot, and Copilot Studio, and will soon be available in consumer experiences like ChatGPT using the Model Context Protocol (MCP) server in beta. Developers now have access to the critical tools you need to build for this AI-first future. This release introduces new developer tools, IAM APIs and extensions, and cutting-edge agreement AI that helps you streamline your agreements, unlock insights, and provide smoother experiences.
Build faster with smarter tools
Build integrations easily and keep them running smoothly using agents and our enhanced set of developer tools, currently released in beta. These tools include:
- Docusign MCP server (beta) Connect developer tools like Anthropic Claude and GitHub Copilot, and business and consumer tools like ChatGPT, to your agreements and workflows to unlock powerful agentic capabilities with the Docusign MCP server, which is now available in beta. The agent-native tools exposed by MCP enable you to interact with Docusign capabilities through natural, conversational AI interfaces. Instead of switching between documentation, API references, and code, you can now use any agent that supports the MCP standard to explore Docusign’s capabilities, including generating access tokens, testing APIs, and automating end-to-end agreement workflows.
- Use case-oriented documentation Browse our use case walkthroughs to see how you can use IAM to solve problems in your industry and area.
- Docusign Developer AI assistant for VS Code (beta) Ask your Docusign-specific developer questions to our Docusign Developer AI assistant, which is now available in beta. You can also use the extension to get an access token that can be used for authentication. You can install the package from the Visual Studio Marketplace.
- SDKs for your language of choice (beta) Simplify your app and make common tasks easier using our new idiomatic IAM SDKs for C#, Java, and TypeScript.
- Unified Developer Console (closed beta) Create and manage integration keys for your API integrations and extension apps all in one place with our upgraded Developer Console.
Automate the agreement lifecycle
Eliminate manual friction points, safely automate error-prone tasks, and connect every part of the agreement process into a smooth and easy-to-manage experience with new APIs, extensions, and developer tools.
- Maestro API (GA) The Maestro API is now entering general availability (GA) for all developers. The Maestro API enables you to connect agreement workflows to your business systems. This integration enables you to trigger workflows from an action in your system (like a new CRM entry), and embed entire workflows directly within your own app or website for a seamless user experience.
- File input/output extensions (GA) Your options for different types of file input and output (file IO) extension apps to use is growing, with file input and output cloud storage being the first of several planned types that is now available for all developers. The file IO extension types enable you to build more powerful extension apps that are able to read and write files directly to and from external systems. This capability simplifies creating solutions like saving agreement files to cloud storage such as Google Drive. See Reducing manual agreement work, part 1: Automating file export to cloud storage for details. Additional file IO capabilities will be expanded in the coming weeks, including file output tabular format, which enables you to export the eSign and Webform data you need from a Maestro workflow to access from your preferred cloud storage provider.
- Private extension apps (GA) The capability to use private extension apps is now available for all developers! By creating and publishing your extension app as private, you can connect both your internal proprietary systems and external systems to IAM, enabling you to fully automate your workflows and eliminate the need for manual data handling. Private extension apps also enable you to control and limit availability to a select group of customers that you choose. For example, you can publish an internal data verification app as private, making it available to only your internal accounts. See Introducing private extension apps for details.
- Connected fields extension, API, and Connect webhooks (GA) The connected fields extension and connected fields API are now available. The connected fields extension enables you to verify your custom data in real-time in your eSignature agreements. You can also extend this functionality by pairing this extension with: - Private extension apps to verify data against your organization’s system of record available only to your accounts and reduce not-in-good-order (NIGO) envelopes.
- The connected fields API to programmatically send envelopes with connected fields and Connect webhooks for subscribing and responding to related verification events.

Unlock agreement data & insights
Centralize, manage, and analyze your agreements at scale. Transform your unstructured agreements into structured data, making it easier to search, extract insights, and take action.
- Navigator API (LA) Navigator API is now offered in limited availability (LA), with plans for global availability early next year. Navigator is a system of record for all of your agreements: it enables you to bulk-upload all of your existing agreements into a repository and uses AI to provide you with sets of structured data extracted directly from them. Integrate the data seamlessly within external systems and use it to automate tasks, embed agreement intelligence into business workflows, and power AI agents. Learn more about limited availability.
- Docusign Navigator event support for Connect webhooks (GA) Together with Navigator API entering limited availability, we’ve made a new set of Connect events available to directly support it and strengthen automation across the IAM lifecycle. These events enable real-time tracking of key actions, such as when an agreement is updated, deleted, or when AI-driven extractions are completed. See the list of Navigator events for details.
